Extra Info :
Mexican serape blanket
The woollen blankets are 100% wool from Criollo sheep, which are Mexican mixed breed sheep. The sheep are shorn twice a year, usually in April and October. The wool is washed in big baskets in a tank of water, spread to dry, separated and spun. The natural colors are white, sometimes a coyote brown, which is rare and very dark brown known as black sheep. The grays are made by blending the belly wool from white and black sheep. Eduardo Rodriguez and his family who hand weave our blankets do their own dyeing and are using aniline dyes or natural sheep tones.
PLEASE NOTE!! This woollen blanket is made traditionally in Mexico in a rural environment. For this reason, there may be remnants of hay and straw on the blanket. These are easy to remove manually. .
If you use this blanket as a rug, it is recommended to put an anti-slip mat underneath. .
The skill is passed on from generation to generation ??.
